黄尾鲴为鲤科鱼类，基本和平的群居鱼，原生分布于中国。性情平和、食性杂，是混养缸里最省心的居民之一。成体约 35.2–51.6 cm，单养或小群均可，适宜水温 18–26 °C。稳水、换水、杂食，足矣。
Xenocypris davidi, a member of the family Cyprinidae, is native to 中国. Its calm temperament and broad diet make it one of the more forgiving residents of a community tank. It uses the whole water column. Adults reach 35.2–51.6 cm. Singly or in small groups depending on temperament. Stable water, regular partial changes and a varied diet cover nearly everything it needs. Maintain 18–26 °C at pH 6.5–7.5. Best suited to a keeper who can match its natural water.
