锯纹原缨口鳅为爬鳅科鱼类，安静但会守护自己选定的栖石，原生分布于中国南方山溪。喜欢急流、凉爽、高溶氧的水环境，高温是最大的敌人。成体约 7.4–10.8 cm，单养或松散小群，取决于石头数量，适宜水温 18–26 °C。水流、溶氧和低温，三者缺一不可。
A Balitoridae species native to southern Chinese mountain streams: Vanmanenia serrilineata lives bottom-dwelling on rock surfaces over fast-flowing mountain streams, clinging to rocks. Calm but assertive around its chosen perch. Adults reach 7.4–10.8 cm. It is one of the aquarium-kept Vanmanenia species we profile, alongside Vanmanenia pingchowensis, Vanmanenia stenosoma, Vanmanenia gymnetrus.

水温控制在 18–26 °C，重点是稳定。Cool, highly oxygenated water。
成体 7.4–10.8 cm 左右，因其Bottom-dwelling on rock surfaces的习性，140 L 以上的缸更合适。
Grazes rock surfaces; feed spirulina-rich foods。建议人工饲料搭配冷冻或活饵，保证多样性。

人工环境下：Spawning unknown in home aquaria。Difficult to distinguish。
