中华黄颡鱼为鲿科鱼类，白天低调，入夜才开始忙碌，原生分布于中国。触须状的须子像手指一样阅读沙地，粗糙底砂会慢慢磨损它。成体约 25.9–38 cm，视体型单养或小群，底栖密度宜低，适宜水温 16–25 °C。沉底饲料，关灯后再喂。
