巧克力飞船为丝足鲈科鱼类，平和但抢食慢，速度型鱼会饿到它，原生分布于婆罗洲。会到水面吞咽空气，因此温暖、静水、草密的水体才是家。成体约 4.5–6.6 cm，成对或小群，需要水草茂密的安静水体，适宜水温 24–27 °C。水流要小，水草要浮。
Sphaerichthys osphromenoides is a Osphronemidae from Borneo. It gulps air at the surface, so warm, still, plant-covered water is home — and cold drafts are not. It lives on the bottom. Adults reach 4.5–6.6 cm. Pairs or small groups in quiet, plant-thick tanks. Give it warm, gentle water, floating plants and quiet neighbours; filter flow should barely ripple the surface. Maintain 24–27 °C at pH 4–6. A rewarding species for the aquarist who reads before buying.
