怀头鲇为鲶科鱼类，夜行性居多，白天安静潜伏，原生分布于中国各水系。触须状的须子像手指一样阅读沙地，粗糙底砂会慢慢磨损它。成体约 85.5–125.4 cm，小型种可成对，大型种单养，适宜水温 21–26 °C。沉底饲料，关灯后再喂。
From the waters of China comes Silurus soldatovi, a member of the family Siluridae. A whiskered bottom resident whose day begins when the lights go off. It lives on the bottom. Adults reach 85.5–125.4 cm. Keep bottom stock light — they share one floor. Feed sinking foods after lights-out, keep the sand soft, and never let nitrate climb unnoticed. Maintain 21–26 °C at pH 6.5–7.5. Best suited to a keeper who can match its natural water.
