青弹涂鱼为虾虎鱼科鱼类，除争夺藏身处外基本平和，原生分布于中国东南沿海滩涂。底栖栖息者，终日穿梭于岩石、缸壁与洞穴之间，造景决定它的性情。成体约 10.5–15.4 cm，成对或小群饲养，需提供充足藏身处，适宜水温 18–26 °C。一鱼一洞，万事大吉。
Scartelaos histophorus is a Gobiidae from muddy coasts of SE China. In the wild it prefers shallow streams and estuaries over sand; in the aquarium it stays peaceful except over a chosen cave. Plan on 10.5–15.4 cm of adult fish at 18–26 °C. In a community tank it pairs well with Non-goby bottom fish.
