神农吻虾虎为虾虎鱼科鱼类，安静的底栖居民，领域边界分明，原生分布于中国华东、华南山溪。底栖栖息者，终日穿梭于岩石、缸壁与洞穴之间，造景决定它的性情。成体约 8.2–12.1 cm，建议单养或成对，每尾都要有自己的洞穴，适宜水温 18–26 °C。一鱼一洞，万事大吉。
Ctenogobius shennongensis is a Gobiidae from mountain streams of E & S China. In the wild it prefers shallow streams and estuaries over sand; in the aquarium it stays calm bottom resident with clear territory boundaries. Plan on 8.2–12.1 cm of adult fish at 18–26 °C. In a community tank it pairs well with Non-goby bottom fish.
