南台吻虾虎为虾虎鱼科鱼类，温和，但对同类有领地意识，原生分布于中国华东、华南山溪。每块石头都是房产；给每尾一个洞，缸里就太平。成体约 4.7–6.8 cm，一穴一鱼，各得其所则相安无事，适宜水温 18–26 °C。一鱼一洞，万事大吉。
A Gobiidae species native to mountain streams of E & S China: Rhinogobius nantaiensis lives bottom-dwelling over sand. Peaceful but territorial toward its own kind. Adults reach 4.7–6.8 cm. It is one of the aquarium-kept Rhinogobius species we profile, alongside Rhinogobius brunneus, Rhinogobius cliffordpopei, Rhinogobius flumineus.
