斑纹吻虾虎为虾虎鱼科鱼类，温和，但对同类有领地意识，原生分布于中国华东、华南山溪。底栖栖息者，终日穿梭于岩石、缸壁与洞穴之间，造景决定它的性情。成体约 3.8–5.5 cm，一穴一鱼，各得其所则相安无事，适宜水温 18–26 °C。一鱼一洞，万事大吉。
Rhinogobius maculafasciatus, a member of the family Gobiidae, comes from mountain streams of E & S China, where it inhabits shallow streams and estuaries over sand. Peaceful but territorial toward its own kind and small carnivore — live, frozen and fine sinking foods, it grows to 3.8–5.5 cm and adapts well to a properly set-up aquarium in the 18–26 °C range. Other Rhinogobius species in our database include Rhinogobius brunneus, Rhinogobius cliffordpopei, Rhinogobius flumineus.
