蓝眼燕子为似虹银汉鱼科鱼类，和平群游，雄鱼体色闪炼、偶有轻斗，原生分布于大洋洲（澳大利亚北部及新几内亚）。虹彩是诚实的状态信号：体色与状态随水质与年龄一起变化。成体约 4–8 cm，至少 6–8 尾，群体越大越安定，适宜水温 20–26 °C。缸要长，群要大，水要清。
Pseudomugil furcatus, a member of the family Pseudomugilidae, is native to N Australia & New Guinea. Its iridescence is honest signalling: colour and condition track water quality and age together. It swims in mid-water. Adults reach 4–8 cm. Groups of 6–8 minimum; larger schools calm them. Provide swimming length, clean hard water and a big school; patience does the rest. Maintain 20–26 °C at pH 6.5–7.5. A rewarding species for the aquarist who reads before buying.
