方氏拟腹吸鳅为爬鳅科鱼类，平和的啃食者，争斗只是短暂推挤，原生分布于中国南方山溪。喜欢急流、凉爽、高溶氧的水环境，高温是最大的敌人。成体约 4.5–6.6 cm，过于密集会不停推挤抢位，适宜水温 20–26 °C。水流、溶氧和低温，三者缺一不可。
From the waters of southern Chinese mountain streams comes Pseudogastromyzon fangi, a member of the family Balitoridae. A torrent-lover built to clamp onto stone in fast, cool, highly oxygenated water; warmth is its enemy. It lives on the bottom. Adults reach 4.5–6.6 cm. Loosely social; crowding causes endless pushing. Aim for brisk current, high oxygen and real algae growth; a powerhead is not optional here. Maintain 20–26 °C at pH 6.5–7.5. Best suited to a keeper who can match its natural water.
