普氏黄颡鱼为鲿科鱼类，和平的底栖巨鱼，对中上层生活毫无兴趣，原生分布于中国各水系。夜行底栖者，灯灭之后才是它一天的开始。成体约 24.6–36.1 cm，共用一块缸底，数量勿多，适宜水温 18–26 °C。沉底饲料，关灯后再喂。
Pseudobagrus pratti, a member of the family Bagridae, comes from China, where it inhabits large rivers over sand and mud. Calm and unobtrusive by day, busy by night and eats anything that sinks; balance protein and greens, it grows to 24.6–36.1 cm and adapts well to a properly set-up aquarium in the 18–26 °C range.
