张氏鲈鲤为鲤科鱼类，对同类温和，对小鱼不留情，原生分布于中国云南水系。高原河流的冷水性鲤科鱼，请按温带溪流鱼而非热带鱼对待。成体约 33–48.4 cm，幼鱼群游，成鱼成对或单养，适宜水温 18–26 °C。降温比喂食更重要。
Percocypris tchangi, a member of the family Cyprinidae, comes from Yunnan, China, where it inhabits clear streams and rivers over gravel. Peaceful toward equals, merciless to fry and hearty feeder; alternate protein and vegetable meals, it grows to 33–48.4 cm and adapts well to a properly set-up aquarium in the 18–26 °C range. Other Percocypris species in our database include Percocypris pingi.
