索氏骨唇鱼为鲤科鱼类，温和，宜与体型相近的和平鱼混养，原生分布于东南亚湄公河流域。适应性强的物种，对新手错误较为宽容。成体约 15.1–22.1 cm，4–6 尾可观察自然行为，适宜水温 18–26 °C。稳水、换水、杂食，足矣。
From the waters of Mekong basin, SE Asia comes Osteochilus salsburyi, a member of the family Cyprinidae. A adaptable species that forgives beginner mistakes more readily than most. It lives on the bottom. Adults reach 15.1–22.1 cm. Keep in a group of 4–6 for natural behaviour. Give it clean water and room to behave naturally, and it will largely care for itself. Maintain 18–26 °C at pH 6.5–7.5. Water quality and diet matter more than décor.
