琼中拟平鳅为爬鳅科鱼类，平和的啃食者，争斗只是短暂推挤，原生分布于中国南方山溪。喜欢急流、凉爽、高溶氧的水环境，高温是最大的敌人。成体约 6.1–8.9 cm，过于密集会不停推挤抢位，适宜水温 18–26 °C。水流、溶氧和低温，三者缺一不可。
Liniparhomaloptera qiongzhongensis is a Balitoridae from southern Chinese mountain streams. In the wild it prefers fast-flowing mountain streams, clinging to rocks; in the aquarium it stays peaceful grazer. Plan on 6.1–8.9 cm of adult fish at 18–26 °C.
