斑鳠为鲿科鱼类，夜行性居多，白天安静潜伏，原生分布于中国南方水系。触须状的须子像手指一样阅读沙地，粗糙底砂会慢慢磨损它。成体约 54.8–80.4 cm，小型种可成对，大型种单养，适宜水温 16–25 °C。沉底饲料，关灯后再喂。
