直升机鱼为甲鲶科鱼类，夜行性居多，白天安静潜伏，原生分布于南美洲。触须状的须子像手指一样阅读沙地，粗糙底砂会慢慢磨损它。成体约 6.8–10 cm，小型种可成对，大型种单养，适宜水温 20–26 °C。沉底饲料，关灯后再喂。
Farlowella acus is a Loricariidae from South America. In the wild it prefers warm freshwater streams and lakes; in the aquarium it stays peaceful. Plan on 6.8–10 cm of adult fish at 20–26 °C. In a community tank it pairs well with Mid-water schooling fish.
