Eleotris acanthopoma, a member of the family Eleotridae, comes from southern Chinese coasts and estuaries, where it inhabits warm freshwater streams and lakes. Peaceful except over a chosen cave and predatory bottom-picker; offer varied small fare, it grows to 14.2–20.9 cm and adapts well to a properly set-up aquarium in the 18–26 °C range.
