精灵鼠为美鲶科鱼类，白天低调，入夜才开始忙碌，原生分布于南美洲。触须状的须子像手指一样阅读沙地，粗糙底砂会慢慢磨损它。成体约 4.9–7.3 cm，视体型单养或小群，底栖密度宜低，适宜水温 21–25 °C。沉底饲料，关灯后再喂。
From the waters of 南美洲 comes Corydoras pygmaeus, a member of the family Callichthyidae. A whiskered bottom resident whose day begins when the lights go off. It lives on the bottom. Adults reach 4.9–7.3 cm. Singly or in small groups depending on species size. Feed sinking foods after lights-out, keep the sand soft, and never let nitrate climb unnoticed. Maintain 21–25 °C at pH 6–8. A rewarding species for the aquarist who reads before buying.
