白首鳜为真鲈科鱼类，领域性强，用造景遮挡视线可显著降低冲突，原生分布于中国各水系。聪明鱼，会重排造景、认得主人，也会惩罚光秃拥挤的缸。成体约 16.4–24 cm，一对占领一个领域，每对都要有可防守的洞穴，适宜水温 10–23 °C。过滤要强，石头要堆。
Coreoperca whiteheadi is a Percichthyidae from China. A thinking fish that rearranges décor and learns its keeper — and punishes bare, crowded tanks. It lives on the bottom. Adults reach 16.4–24 cm. A pair claims a territory; give each a defensible cave. Over-filter for its messy habits, aquascape with rock walls, and respect its claimed corner. Maintain 10–23 °C at pH 7–7.4. A rewarding species for the aquarist who reads before buying.
