珠江爬岩鳅为爬鳅科鱼类，平和的啃食者，争斗只是短暂推挤，原生分布于中北美洲。吸盘状腹部为适应山溪急流而生，温暖静水对它比疾病更致命。成体约 9–13.2 cm，过于密集会不停推挤抢位，适宜水温 18–24 °C。水流、溶氧和低温，三者缺一不可。
Beaufortia leveretti is a Balitoridae from Red River basin, N Vietnam. In the wild it prefers fast-flowing mountain streams, clinging to rocks; in the aquarium it stays peaceful grazer.
