长鳍光唇鱼为鲤科鱼类，基本和平的群居鱼，原生分布于中国南方山溪河流。适应性强的物种，对新手错误较为宽容。成体约 15–22 cm，单养或小群均可，适宜水温 15–25 °C。稳水、换水、杂食，足矣。
Acrossocheilus longipinnis, a member of the family Cyprinidae, comes from southern Chinese mountain streams, where it inhabits clear streams and rivers over gravel. Mostly peaceful community fish and accepts quality flakes, granules and frozen foods, it grows to 15–22 cm and adapts well to a properly set-up aquarium in the 15–25 °C range.
