多鳞鱊为鲤科鱼类，多数温和，宜与温顺鱼混养，原生分布于中国及东亚淡水水系。繁殖依赖活体淡水河蚌，因此细沙底床与稳定水质比造景更重要。成体约 6.5–9.6 cm，建议 6 尾以上小群饲养，适宜水温 15–25 °C。饲养不难，难在稳定。
