Schizothorax davidi, a member of the family Cyprinidae, comes from SW China, where it inhabits clear streams and rivers over gravel. Generally peaceful but predatory on small fish and omnivore leaning carnivorous — pellets plus fish and vegetable matter, it grows to 29.6–43.5 cm and adapts well to a properly set-up aquarium in the 18–26 °C range.
