Calm, active shoaler; colour deepens with age and unfussy omnivore; colour foods enhance the shine, it grows to 9–13.2 cm and adapts well to a properly set-up aquarium in the 29–30 °C range. In a community tank it pairs well with Other rainbowfish and large peaceful tetras.
