Chanodichthys mongolicus, a member of the family Cyprinidae, is native to China. Its calm temperament and broad diet make it one of the more forgiving residents of a community tank. It uses the whole water column. Adults reach 76.5–112.2 cm. Keep in a group of 4–6 for natural behaviour. Stable water, regular partial changes and a varied diet cover nearly everything it needs. Maintain 18–26 °C at pH 6.5–7.5. Best suited to a keeper who can match its natural water.
