Chanodichthys dabryi, a member of the family Cyprinidae, is native to China. Its calm temperament and broad diet make it one of the more forgiving residents of a community tank. It lives on the bottom. Adults reach 39.8–58.4 cm. Keep in a group of 4–6 for natural behaviour. Stable water, regular partial changes and a varied diet cover nearly everything it needs. Maintain 18–26 °C at pH 6.5–7.5. A rewarding species for the aquarist who reads before buying.
