Trichopsis pumila, a member of the family Osphronemidae, comes from Southeast Asia, where it inhabits still waters, rice paddies and slow streams. Calm labyrinth fish; boisterous tankmates stress it and surface-feeding omnivore that savours variety, it grows to 3–4.4 cm and adapts well to a properly set-up aquarium in the 25–28 °C range. Other Trichopsis species in our database include Trichopsis vittata, Trichopsis schalleri.
