From the waters of 中国 comes Hypophthalmichthys molitrix, a member of the family Cyprinidae. A adaptable species that forgives beginner mistakes more readily than most. It uses the whole water column. Adults reach 90–132 cm. Singly or in small groups depending on temperament. Give it clean water and room to behave naturally, and it will largely care for itself. Maintain 10.8–25.2 °C at pH 6.5–7.5. A solid choice for a well-planned community tank.
