A Gobiidae species native to Bohai Bay coasts, China: Gymnogobius petschiliensis lives bottom-dwelling over sand. Calm bottom resident with clear territory boundaries. Adults reach 6–8.8 cm. It is one of the aquarium-kept Gymnogobius species we profile, alongside Gymnogobius urotaenia.
