Full size is 11.6–17.1 cm. Minimum tank: 351 L, with open swimming space along its bottom-dwelling habits.
Omnivore; prepared foods with regular vegetable matter. Feed two small meals a day rather than one large one.

Not a noted jumper — a standard cover still keeps dust and spray in.
Egg-scatterer; no parental care. Males often slimmer and more colourful.
