Full size is 14.1–20.7 cm. Minimum tank: 500 L, with open swimming space along its bottom-dwelling habits.
Herbivorous-leaning omnivore. It forages naturally over bare smooth rock, so let some food reach the bottom.
Peaceful; territorial over perches. Recommended tankmates: Similar-sized peaceful community fish — Similar size and water needs. Avoid Much smaller fish — May outcompete or bully tiny tankmates.
Found in mountain torrents clinging to boulders; expect very strong current, highly oxygenated and requires very high dissolved oxygen.
