It is one of the aquarium-kept Pareuchiloglanis species we profile, alongside Pareuchiloglanis sinensis, Pareuchiloglanis gracilicaudata, Pareuchiloglanis longicauda.
A moderate-level species: peaceful; territorial over perches; stable water matters more than fancy equipment.
Set the heater to 18–26 °C and avoid swings. pH 6.5–7.8, GH 12–30 dGH suit it.
Adults reach 12–17.6 cm; it is bottom-dwelling. Plan for at least 372 litres.
Herbivorous-leaning omnivore. Vary the menu — quality flakes or pellets plus frozen or live foods.
Peaceful; territorial over perches; small groups with enough perches. Good company: Similar-sized peaceful community fish — Similar size and water needs. Keep away from Much smaller fish — May outcompete or bully tiny tankmates.
Its habitat is mountain torrents clinging to boulders — very strong current, highly oxygenated, requires very high dissolved oxygen.
