A Sisoridae species: Pareuchiloglanis longicauda lives bottom-dwelling over mountain torrents clinging to boulders. Peaceful; territorial over perches. Adults reach 13.6–19.9 cm. It is one of the aquarium-kept Pareuchiloglanis species we profile, alongside Pareuchiloglanis sinensis, Pareuchiloglanis gracilicaudata, Pareuchiloglanis myzostoma.
Difficulty: moderate. Peaceful; territorial over perches. Small groups with enough perches.
Set the heater to 18–26 °C and avoid swings. pH 6.5–7.8, GH 12–30 dGH suit it.
Adults reach 13.6–19.9 cm; it is bottom-dwelling. Plan for at least 475 litres.
Herbivorous-leaning omnivore. It forages naturally over bare smooth rock, so let some food reach the bottom.
Peaceful; territorial over perches. Recommended tankmates: Similar-sized peaceful community fish — Similar size and water needs. Avoid Much smaller fish — May outcompete or bully tiny tankmates.
It lives in mountain torrents clinging to boulders. Very strong current, highly oxygenated; Requires very high dissolved oxygen.
