Adults reach 5.2–7.7 cm. It is one of the aquarium-kept Liniparhomaloptera species we profile, alongside Liniparhomaloptera disparis, Liniparhomaloptera qiongzhongensis.
A moderate-level species: peaceful; territorial over a favourite perch; stable water matters more than fancy equipment.
Hold 18–26 °C and keep it stable — 18–26 °C typical for the genus. Cool, highly oxygenated water.
Expect 5.2–7.7 cm as an adult, living bottom-dwelling. A 71 L tank or larger gives it room.
Herbivorous grazer; algae and spirina foods. Feed two small meals a day rather than one large one.
Peaceful; territorial over a favourite perch; keep in a small group with enough perches. Good company: Similar-sized peaceful community fish — Similar size and water needs. Keep away from Much smaller fish — May outcompete or bully tiny tankmates.
Its habitat is fast-flowing mountain streams, clinging to rocks — very strong, highly oxygenated current, requires very high dissolved oxygen.
In the aquarium: not bred in home aquaria. Difficult to distinguish.
