Gobiobotia jiangxiensis, a member of the family Cyprinidae, comes from China, where it inhabits clear streams and rivers over gravel. Mostly peaceful; some species nip fins and omnivore; prepared foods with regular vegetable matter, it grows to 3.8–5.5 cm and adapts well to a properly set-up aquarium in the 18–26 °C range. Other Gobiobotia species in our database include Gobiobotia pappenheimi, Gobiobotia macrocephala.
A moderate-level species: mostly peaceful; some species nip fins; stable water matters more than fancy equipment.
Set the heater to 18–26 °C and avoid swings. pH 6.5–7.5, GH 5–15 dGH suit it.
Adults reach 3.8–5.5 cm; it is bottom-dwelling. Plan for at least 36 litres.
Omnivore; prepared foods with regular vegetable matter. Feed two small meals a day rather than one large one.

Not a noted jumper — a standard cover still keeps dust and spray in.
In the aquarium: egg-scatterer; no parental care. Males often slimmer and more colourful.
