Axelrodia riesei is a Characidae from South America. In the wild it prefers blackwater streams and flooded forest; in the aquarium it stays mostly peaceful. Plan on 2.6–3.9 cm of adult fish at 22–26 °C. In a community tank it pairs well with Similar-sized peaceful community fish.

Expect 2.6–3.9 cm as an adult, living middle of the water column. A 25 L tank or larger gives it room.
Omnivore with carnivorous tilt. Feed two small meals a day rather than one large one.
