Artübersicht

Hypancistrus zebra, a member of the family Loricariidae, is native to 南美洲. Its barbels read the sand like fingers; coarse gravel slowly wears them down. It lives on the bottom. Adults reach 5.2–7.7 cm. Singly or in small groups depending on species size. Provide soft substrate, hiding tubes, and food that reaches the bottom before tankmates finish it. Maintain 23–26 °C at pH 6–7.5. Undemanding once its core needs are met.
